Young Glendora Man Dies After Weekend Crash

Resident was taken off life support after an accident on the 57 freeway near Pathfinder Road.

A 24-year-old Glendora resident died Tuesday after succumbing to his injuries sustained in a crash over the weekend.

Adam Roland was driving north on the Interstate 57 freeway after 1 p.m., Saturday, just south of Pathfinder Road when a vehicle in the carpool lane made a lane change over the double yellow lines. Roland swerved to avoid hitting the car, officials said.

The suspect car continued on its way.

The rear of Roland's car hit the guard rail along the right should and his car careened down the embankment and his car struck a tree, officials said. Roland sustained major injuries. Roland was extricated from the vehicle and flown to County/USC Medical Center.

Roland was taken off life support Tuesday. Connor McCain, also a Glendora resident, was a passenger in Roland's car. He sustained minor injuries.

Authorities determined Roland was driving at 80 miles per hour.

Authorities are classifying the incident as a hit and run, according to Keri Rivas of the California Highway Patrol.

The suspect vehicle is described as a silver, or white Mercedes Benz, or BMW.

The California Highway Patrol is looking for any witnesses to this collision and are encouraged to contact the Baldwin Park Area office during normal business hours at (626) 338-1164 or after hours through the Los Angeles Communications Center at (323) 982-4900.
