Woman Leads Police, CHP on 45 Minute Chase

The woman's identity also has not been released.

A woman driving a van led police and the California Highway Patrol on a roughly 45-minute chase that began in Covina Monday night and ended near a CHP regional office in San Bernardino.

Officers responded at 9:30 p.m. to a report of a forgery near Grand Avenue and Badillo Street and saw the suspect's vehicle, which failed to stop, said Covina Rick Walczak.

"I don't know the particulars of the (forgery) crime," Walczak said. "At some point near Pomona, the CHP took over the  pursuit."

The van drove onto the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway. The chase ended about 45 minutes later when the van exited the eastbound (210) Freeway at State Street, near a CHP regional office in San Bernardino. She stopped the van and surrendered to authorities, he said.

"She has been booked yet," Walczak said. "I can't tell you the charges."
