Victim of Collision Flees Crash, is Arrested for DUI
Driver who reportedly caused crash follows the victim who fled the scene without identifying himself.
The victim of a non-injury traffic collision Sunday night was arrested after leaving the scene and was reportedly found to be intoxicated.
Arrested was Jose Martinez, 45, on suspicion of DUI and hit and run resulting in property damage. Martinez was issued a citation and released.
The accident was reported at 10:17 p.m. near the intersection of Grand and Mauna Loa avenues. Martinez reportedly left the crash in his silver Chevy and was seen southbound on South Jennifer Avenue, according to scanner reports.

Police located the suspect vehicle nearby and arrested the man.
"The driver who fled was intoxicated, but not at fault," Lamborghini said. "He was crashed into, but he fled, which is illegal."

Under California law, a person can be charged with misdemeanor hit and run if the person leaves the scene of the accident, does not identify themself to involved parties and if the other's property was damaged in the accident.
