Victim of Azusa Crash Identified as Baldwin Park Resident

Alberto Sanchez Jr., 23, of Baldwin Park died at the scene of a three-vehicle crash in Azusa Sunday night.

A man killed in a three-vehicle crash in Azusa that left six other people injured was identified today.

The crash at Citrus Avenue and Baseline Road was reported about 8 p.m. Sunday, Phil Ulloa of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

Alberto Sanchez Jr., 23, of Baldwin Park died at the scene, said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

Two patients were airlifted to trauma centers and the rest were taken to area hospitals by ambulances, LACFD Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman told Patch.

At least one person was trapped in the wreckage, fire officials said.

The helicopters landed at the Azusa High School campus, Pittman said.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

That intersection and the one just east at Baranca were always pretty much blind intersections now made totally blind with the recent sound walls.

Members of my family drove by the accident scene on their way home from shopping. They said is was the worst accident they had ever seen. I hope we're going to learn what exactly happened.
