Vehicle Burglar Nabbed With Stolen Property

Eyewitness helps police identify suspect seen in Citrus College parking lots.

A man was arrested Monday after eyewitnesses saw him stealing from a vehicle on the campus.

Officers arrested Minor Maradiaga, 32, from Glendora, on suspicion of burglary. Maradiaga was held in lieu of $20,000 bail before being transferred to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles.

Police reportedly found Maradiaga with a stolen watch from the burglarized vehicle in his possession and was also positively identified by the eyewitness.

The eyewitness reported to officers that Maradiaga had been seen trying to open vehicle doors in a Citrus College parking lot some time before 11 a.m., said Sergeant Matt Williams. The man successfully gained entry into a vehicle and was observed going through some items by the witness.

The suspect then left campus Eastbound on a bicycle and was last seen near North Grand and Bennet avenues when he was intercepted by police and arrested.

Maradiaga could appear in West Covina Superior Court as early as Wednesday, police said.

This story corrects a previous version, which stated the suspect was located at South Grand and Bennett avenues.
