At least one person is seriously injured in a crash on the westbound Interstate 10, in West Covina, involving a stalled vehicle that was struck from behind.
California Highway Patrol officials had been in discussions to land Life Flight helicopter near the freeway to transport a victim of the crash about a half-hour ago.
The crash was reported just after noon today east of North Sunset Avenue. According to CHP records, a car, possibly a Toyota, stalled in one of the slow lanes and was struck from behind by a westbound vehicle.
Details are still coming, but officials said it appeares four cars were involved in the crash
Witnesses reported several good Samaritans trying to help a victim out of one of the damaged vehicles. Traffic was at a near standstill for about four miles from Sunset Avenue to just east of South Citrus Avenue.
