Three Arrested on Suspicion of Fraud, Theft at Walmart

Two suspects attempted to use someone else's ID to return allegedly stolen items.

Four acquaintances were arrested at Sunday afternoon, three of whom were suspected in burglary and attempting to use a lost or stolen ID card to return allegedly stolen items for money.

Arrested were Tiffany Thomas, 25, from Rialto, Teresa Blount, 23 and Renee Blount, 26, both from San Bernardino. Thomas was booked on suspicion of burglary and was held in lieu of $20,000 bail. Renee was booked on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime and defraud by using another's identification. Teresa was booked on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime and obtaining another's identification for unlawful purposes. Both Blount's were held in lieu of $20,000 bail. Also arrested was Shant Allen, 38, from Rialto on an outstanding traffic warrant out of the LAX Police. Allen was held in lieu of $5,000 bail.

received the call from Walmart employees at 4:39 p.m. that two of the suspects (the Blount sisters) were attempting to fraudulently return articles of clothing, while the third suspect (Thomas) stole baby clothing and concealed the items in her purse.

The Blount sisters attempted to return the clothing they did not purchase using an identification card that was reportedly lost, police said.

"It was an identification card that someone had lost and they found it and they were trying to use it, because the picture looked similar," said Lieutenant James DeMond.

Thomas reportedly concealed $161 worth of baby clothing in her purse, DeMond said. The value of the reported stolen items was not immediately known.

All the clothing was recovered, police said.

The four will be arraigned in court either Tuesday or Wednesday, police said.
