Thief Takes Off With Large Television From Walmart
Man reportedly nonchalantly walks off with television after telling loss prevention his wife had the receipt.
A customer at made off with a large television Tuesday afternoon after fooling loss prevention at the supermarket.
Store employees notified at 1:54 p.m. about the crime after the thief had already taken off, according to scanner reports.
The man, described as a male Hispanic, walked into the store and went directly to the electronics section and picked up a 46-inch television, said Lieutenant Joe Ward. The suspect reportedly walked out of the store with the television, loss prevention then asked to see the receipt, at which point the suspect said his wife had it. The suspect kept on walking, Ward said.
The suspect eventually left in a truck, possibly on the Interstate 57 freeway, police said. Officers were unable to find the suspect.
