About noon, a student found a suspicious device on the second level athletic field. The device was brought to school bike rack away from the school buildings. In an abundance of caution, the GPD notified the Sheriff Department Bomb Squad, who responded and detonated what appeared to be some type of model rocket engine. Students and staff were not in danger. Bennett was reopened by 1:45 pm and school dismissed as usual at 2:30 pm. We are thankful for the exceptional response of our staff and students and the immediate response of the Glendora Police Department and emergency services.

Please remind your student(s) to always notify an adult on campus immediately if they should encounter a similar situation.
