Glendora resident Tracy Adkins said she was home Thursday at noon when she heard someone knocking on her door. When she answered she saw a young male standing in the front porch area.

Adkins said the man told her that he was responding to a call for yard work.

“I thought it was funny because he asked for my mother,” said Adkins. “I know no one else had called about yard work.”

Adkins said she closed the door and watched the man walk quickly to his truck, one that Adkins said police said matched the description of the suspect in Wednesday’s incident.

Adkins called police who advised her to keep her windows and doors locked. Adkins believes the man, who she said fit the description of the suspect in the burglary incident, had been scouting out locations to break into. Her son borrowed her car, which usually sits in her driveway, that day.

“I think the guy saw that my driveway was empty and thought no one was home,” she said

She also said she noticed a similar truck driving very slowly past her home Tuesday afternoon.

“I know the residents on my street and their cars,” said Adkins. “It was very suspicious.”

Sgt. Scott Strong said Glendora Police may soon release a composite sketch of the suspect.

He advised residents to forward any information related to the burglary case to Detective Martin Barrett at 626-914-8288.
