Semi-Trailer Truck Knocks Down Signal at Compromise Line Road, Route 66

While the driver drove off after the accident, police have not determined if it was a hit-and-run incident.

Glendora Police Department is investigating an early morning accident in which a large semi-trailer truck knocked down the traffic signal at Compromise Line Road and Route 66.

The driver of the truck turned from Compromise Line Road onto westbound E. Route 66. It is a sharp turn from a small street, said Police Lt. Brian Summers. “He took out the traffic standard at the northwest corner and didn’t stop,” Summers said.

Officers responded to the accident at 2:24 a.m. on April 20 and found the traffic standard down and a pole blocking traffic on westbound Route 66. The officers later stopped the truck, which was headed west on Route 66.

The driver of the truck was not held or arrested, Summers said, adding that the driver may have not known that he took down the traffic signal.

Summers said repairs to the signal at the intersection would be going on all day.
