Resident Chases Burglars After Seeing Them In His Car

Police unable to find alleged criminals after search.

Police are investigating an early-morning incident in which two men allegedly broke into a resident's car and were chased by the victim.

The incident happened some time around 4:17 a.m. in the 100 block of South Glenwood Avenue. Details are few, but police reported the man witnessed two men breaking into his vehicle. Once they were discovered, the men allegedly fled the car.

The victim reportedly got in his vehicle and chased the suspects as they ran, but the men eluded their intended victim, said Lieutenant James DeMond.

According to scanner reports, police conducted a search of several residents in the area of Glenwood and Carroll avenues. Officers, however, were unable to find the suspects, who were described as clad in all black.
