Police Warn Against Fraudulent Calls Soliciting Donations

Residents over the past month have been contacted by individuals claiming to be collecting donations on behalf of the Glendora Police Department.

Glendora Police are warning residents to be aware of calls soliciting donations on behalf of the Glendora Police Department.

According to Glendora Detective Nancy Miranda, Glendora Police are not currently making phone calls asking for donations. She said any person claiming to be from Glendora Police and asking for donations is a fraud.

Over the past month, the department has received several phone calls from residents who say they have been contacted by individuals claiming to be from the Glendora Police Department.

The individuals asked the residents to renew their donations, said Miranda.

“According to the residents, they said the individuals were very rude,” said Miranda. “They also knew the people they were calling by name.”

Miranda said residents should not agree to making any donation if they are unsure of the source.

“If anyone is unsure about a caller soliciting donations, they should contact the police station and ask,” said Miranda.
