Dozens of Glendora residents were shaken Monday night by what they described as a very loud explosion.
Glendora Police received 33 calls at around 10:21 p.m., reporting the noise in the area of Amelia Avenue and Country Club Drive.
“Very loud, louder than fireworks,” Glendora resident Mike Kinney said. “Like an explosion and then helicopter.”
Glendora Police dispatched police units and a helicopter to search the area, but could not find the source of the noise.
“Typically, the cause of such an explosion is power utility failure, but that was not apparent in last night’s incident,” said Capt. Tim Staab.
Staab said if residents continue to hear loud, unusual noises, to call Glendora Police immediately so they can investigate.
