Police: No Leads in Two Home Burglaries

Authorities are still investigating last week's crimes that were reported within hours of each other.

Glendora Police have little to work with regarding two residential burglaries that happened April 9 within in a block of each other and within a similar time frame.

Police are unsure if the two burglaries are related.

The first home burglary was reported before 4 p.m. in the 500 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue. The caller reported seeing their neighbor's front door opened for most for the day. As she went to investigate, the caller also saw a rear window had been broken, police said. Entry was made through that window.

Some camera equipment, a laptop and jewelry were taken in the incident, said Lieutenant Brian Summers.

Police received a second residential burglary call just after 5 p.m. in the 500 block of North Glendora Avenue. The resident returned home and found that the master bedroom had been ransacked. Entry was also made through a rear window, Summers said. Only jewelry was taken in the second incident.

There have been no eyewitnesses to the burglaries and no description of possible suspects or vehicles involved, leaving authorities to use what they may have collected at the scene.

"On cold cases where we don't have any leads other than getting fingerprints and looking for DNA, it takes a little bit. Sometimes it takes six months to a year to get something back from DNA on a property crime," Summers said.
