Police Blotter: Vehicle Theft, A Prowler and An Injury Collision

Local police activity for the week of Dec. 24 to Dec. 30.

The following information was provided by the Glendora Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 24. Sgt. Matt Egan and Sgt. Scott Strong on duty.

  • 2:38 a.m. - Grand theft auto was reported in the Walmart Parking lot, 1950 East Auto Centre Drive.
  • 5:43 a.m. - Grand theft auto was reported in the 300 block of East Lemon Avenue.
  • 8 a.m. - Grand theft auto was reported in the 400 block of West Gladstone Street.
  • 11:38 a.m. - Vehicle burglary was reported in the 1100 block of East Jedburgh Avenue.
  • 2:37 p.m. - Grand theft auto was reported in the 400 block of West Gladstone Street.


Tuesday, Dec. 25. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Sgt. Scott Strong on duty.

  • 1:20 a.m. - A disturbance was reported in the 100 block of North Wildwood Avenue. Police arrived and arrested Henry Macias, 30, on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Macias was held in lieu of $2,500 bail.
  • 2:24 a.m. - Suspicious circumstances were reported in the 1600 block of South Treanor Avenue. A man was allegedly seen jumping a wall into a residence. A second caller saw the man jump into the yard of another residence. Police arrived and observed the man on the roof a home nearby. Police arrested Russell Boggess, 28, on suspicion of prowling or loitering. Boggess was cited and released.

  • 6:45 a.m. - A traffic stop was conducted in the 1100 block of East Route 66. Arrested was Peter Torres, 28, on suspicion of possessing known stolen property and petty theft with a prior conviction. Torres was released for a court appearance.
  • 1:17 p.m. - Graffiti was reported in the 900 block of East Arrow Highway.
  • 6:24 p.m. - Vandalism was reported in the 1500 block of South Sunflower Avenue.


Wednesday, Dec. 26. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Sgt. Scott Strong on duty.

  • 11:23 a.m. - A pedestrian check was conducted in the 400 block of West Route 66. Arrested was Cleo Husser, 44, on suspicion of disorderly conduct from alcohol. Husser was held until no further prosecution was desired.
  • 1:38 p.m. - A dog bite was investigated in the 600 block of West Linfield Street. A boy was playing in the backyard of a friend's house when the neighbor dog bit the victim, severely injuring his ear, arm and hip.
  • 2:38 p.m. - Theft in progress was reported at Kohl's, 1225 South Lone Hill Avenue. Arrested was Jenna Thompson, 18, and Jessica Thompson, 18, both on suspicion of theft. Clothing items were reportedly stolen. The Thompsons were cited and released.
  • 6:45 p.m. - A suspicious occupied vehicle was reported in the 1100 block of East Hollyvale Avenue. The occupant was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant. The occupant was released for a court appearance.
  • 10:51 a.m. - A traffic stop was conducted on Grand Avenue at the 210 freeway. A report was taken.
  • 10:49 a.m. - A theft report was investigated in the 1200 block of East Route 66.


Thursday, Dec. 27. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Lt. James DeMond on duty.

  • 3:40 a.m. - Vandalism was reported in the 600 block of South Le Mar Park Drive.
  • 7:51 p.m. - An injury collision was reported on Amelia Avenue at Country Club Drive.
  • 10:49 a.m. - Theft was reported in the 1200 block of West Route 66.
  • 1:32 p.m. - Commercial burglary was reported in the 1300 block of South Lone Hill Avenue.
  • 1:46 p.m. - Theft in progress was reported at Sam's Club, 1301 South Lone Hill Avenue. Arrested was Genevieve Lacroix, 23, on suspicion of theft and on several outstanding warrants. Lacroix was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
  • 7:30 p.m. - Theft in progress was reported in the 400 block of West Arrow Highway.


Friday, Dec. 28. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Lt. James DeMond on duty.

  • 3 a.m. - A traffic stop was conducted on Vermont at Foothill avenues. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. The driver was cited and released.
  • 7:11 a.m. - A theft in progress was reported in the 800 block of West Route 66. Police arrested Michael Sturteva, 46, on suspicion of disorderly conduct from alcohol. Sturteva was held until no further prosecution was desired.
  • 12:02 p.m. - Fraud was reported in the 700 block of East Juanita Avenue.
  • 2:25 p.m. - Theft was reported in the 400 block of West Fleetwood Place.


Saturday, Dec. 29. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Lt. James DeMond on duty.

  • 1:24 a.m. - A traffic stop was conducted on Alosta Avenue at Calera Street. Arrested was Juan Munoz, 29, on suspicion of DUI, exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place. Munoz was cited and released.
  • 6:54 a.m. - Officers were called to assist paramedics in the 1700 block of East Bluebird Lane. The caller stated a relative was turning blue. Medics arrived and began CPR, but the man was pronounced dead.
  • 10:29 a.m. - A residential burglary was reported in the 600 block of East Cypress Avenue.
  • 1:47 p.m. - Theft was reported in the 700 block of West Galatea Street.
  • 6:48 p.m. - A traffic stop was conducted in the 900 block of West Bonita Avenue. Arrested was Luis Hernandez, 27, on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and failing to provide a license to officers. Hernandez was cited and released.
  • 8:37 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a violation of a restraining order in progress, 600 block of South Wabash. Police arrested Timothy Spicer, 32, on suspicion of violating a restraining or protective order. Spicer was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.


Sunday, Dec. 30. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Lt. James DeMond on duty.

  • 2:18 a.m. - A suspicious occupied vehicle was investigated in the 600 block of East Mauna Loa Avenue. Arrested was Daniel Ruffalo, 32, on suspicion of battery against a police officer and obstructing an officer. Ruffalo was cited and released.
  • 8:07 a.m. - Battery was reported in the 300 block of West Roue 66.
  • 1:47 p.m. - Grand theft was reported in the 2200 block of East Baseline Road.
  • 2:48 p.m. - Theft in progress was reported at Stater Bros., 1830 East Route 66. A man allegedly stole five bottles of alcohol and left southbound on Lone Hill Avenue in a black car. Police obtained the license plate number of the car, located a residence and arrested Jason Thornton, 42, on suspicion of burglary. Thornton was held without bail.
  • 8:15 p.m. - Theft was reported in the 200 block of South Valley Center Avenue.
