Police Blotter: Thefts, Vandalism and Vehicle Burglaries

Local police activity for the week of Jan. 9 to Jan, 15.

The following information was supplied by the Glendora Police department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Jan. 9, Lt. Caldwell and Lt. Ward on duty.

  • At 6:32 a.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 500 block of E. Comstock Avenue.
  • At 9:05 a.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 900 block of S. Grand Avenue.
  • At 11:56 a.m. officers investigated a graffiti report in the 800 block of W. Baseline Road.
  • At 1:41 p.m. officers responded to a reported residential burglary in the 500 block of Sierra Madre Avenue. The residents arrived to see their front door was open. Officers arrived to clear the house and confirmed a ransack burglary occurred, Ward said.
  • At 3:44 p.m. officers were called to , 1301 S. Lone Hill Avenue to a reported theft in progress. Store officials said there was a subject in the store taking and concealing CDs in an attempt to steal them. The suspect was also accused of taking merchandise from the Glendora store and at least one other store, authorities said. Police arrested Roger Hawkes, 56, from Irvine, on suspicion of theft. Hawkes was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
  • At 4:53 p.m. officers responded to a trespassing report in the 900 block of N. Glencoe Heights. A subject had been trespassing in a residence at the location and was asked to leave by the owners. Officers arrived and arrested John Brinegar, 36, on suspicion of trespassing and for possession of methamphetamine. Brenigar was held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
  • At 6:27 p.m. officers performed a traffic stop on Foothill Blvd. at Lone Hill Avenue and arrested Darryl Bunn, 25, on three outstanding warrants. Bunn was held in lieu of $30,000 and released.

Tuesday, Jan. 10, Lt. Caldwell on duty.

  • At 8:26 a.m. Glendora PD was informed of, 1401 S. Grand Avenue. Authorities said at least 13 upright grave markers were knocked over sometime during the previous night. Around $3,000 in damage is estimated to have occurred.
  • At 1:39 p.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 1300 block of E. Gladstone Street.
  • At 3:05 p.m. officers responded to Walmart, 1950 E. Auto Centre Drive on a fraud in progress call. Officers arrested Porscha McDaniel, 31, on suspicion of issuing false checks and burglary. McDaniel was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
  • At 4:30 p.m. officers pulled over a vehicle near the eastbound Interstate 210 at Foothill Blvd. for making a turn without signaling. Officers then discovered the driver did not have a license and arrested the subject. The driver was cited for $250 and released.
  • At 6:59 p.m. officers were called to Walmart on a theft in progress call. Officers arrested 33-year-old Ameerah McGlothin on suspicion of burglary. McGlothin was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
  • At 7:31 p.m. officers investigated a residential burglary report in the 100 block of E. Gladstone Street.

Wednesday, Jan. 11, Sgt. Egan and Lt. Ward on duty.

  • At 2:20 a.m. officers initiated a traffic stop in the 700 block of S. Elwood Avenue and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI, having a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit and on suspicion of possessing a drill with with intent to vandalize. The subject was cited for $5,000 and released.
  • At 2:30 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of E. Route 66 and arrested the subject on suspicion of DUI and having a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. The subject was cited for $5,000 and released.
  • At 10:52 a.m. officers investigated a graffiti report in the 400 block of W. Route 66. Graffiti was discovered on the driveway in front of the trailer park, Ward said.
  • At 11:19 a.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 300 block of W. Arrow Highway. Catalytic converters were allegedly stolen from two parked vehicles at an auto repair shop.
  • At 3:36 p.m. officers investigated a vehicle burglary report in the 2000 block of E. Financial Way.

Thursday, Jan. 12, Lt. Lamborghini and Sgt. Randazzo on duty.

  • At 12:15 a.m. officers arrested a driver in the 1100 block of E. Arrow Highway on suspicion of DUI and for not registering their vehicle. The driver was cited for $15,000 and released.
  • At 9:07 a.m. officers performed a pedestrian check in the 100 block of N. Wabash Avenue and arrested the driver on a previous warrant. The driver was cited for $25,000 and released.
  • At 2:49 p.m. officers arrived to the 700 block of E. Carroll Avenue on a Glendora Municipal Code violation and arrested the subject for soliciting without a valid business license and for a previous warrant. The subject was cited and released.
  • At 3:59 p.m. officers arrested a subject on Route 66 and Parker Avenue on suspicion of disorderly conduct from alcohol. The subject was held in lieu of $250 bail.
  • At 5:15 p.m. officers arrived to the 200 block of S. Burnaby Drive on a report of suspicious circumstances and arrested Thomas Holland, 24, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Holland was cited for $10,000 and released.

Friday, Jan. 13, Lt. Lamborghini on duty.

  • At 2:49 a.m. officers performed a traffic stop on S. Willow Avenue at Route 66 and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI and having a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. The subject was held in lieu of $5,000 bail.
  • At 3:15 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on E. Foothill Blvd. at Lone Hill Avenue and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI and having a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. The driver was held in lieu of $5,000 bail.
  • At 5:57 a.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 500 block of S. Grand Avenue.
  • At 8:21 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on E. Arrow Highway at Banna Avenue and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI and having a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. The driver was held in lieu of $5,000 bail.
  • At 9:34 p.m. officers investigated a vehicle burglary report in the 800 block of S. Grand Avenue.
  • At 11:59 p.m. officers arrived to Walmart, 1950 E. Auto Centre Drive on a theft report. Officers arrested Lisa Marie Barnett, 50, on suspicion of theft. Barnett was cited for $1,000 and released.

Saturday, Jan. 14, Lt. Lamborghini and Lt. DeMond on duty.

  • At 6:49 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of W. Arrow Highway and arrested the driver on suspicion of receiving known stolen property and for possession of marijuana. The driver was cited for $20,000 and released.
  • At 7:27 a.m. officers investigated a vehicle burglary report in the 900 block of S. Sandstone Drive.
  • At 12:15 p.m. officers responded to a family disturbance in the 300 block of N. Valencia Street. The subject had allegedly threatened family members with a knife. Officers arrested Joseph Patlan, 19, on suspicion of exhibiting a deadly weapon other than a firearm and battery. Patlan was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
  • At 1:24 p.m. officers investigated a suspicious occupied vehicle in the 100 block of W. Juanita Avenue and arrested the subject on an outstanding warrant. The subject was cited for $50,000 and released.
  • At 7:44 p.m. officers investigated a vehicle burglary report in the 600 block of S. Hunters Trail. A car had been parked at its location since Wednesday, the owner observed one of its windows was smashed, DeMond said.


Sunday, Jan. 15, Lt. Caldwell on duty.

  • At 2:44 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of E. Foothill Blvd. and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI and having a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. The driver was cited for $5,000 and released.
  • At 10:27 a.m. officers investigated a vehicle burglary report in the 500 block of W. Baseline Road.
  • At 12:09 p.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 500 block of S. Pasadena Avenue.
  • At 2:52 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance call at the McDonalds restaurant in the 1800 block of E. Route 66 and arrested Paul Glover, 54, on suspicion of disorderly conduct resulting from alcohol and for a previous warrant.
  • At 4:56 p.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 1600 block of S. Barranca Avenue.
