Police Blotter: Thefts, Burglaries and an Injury Collision

Local police activity for the week of Dec. 17 to Dec. 23.

The following information was provided by the Glendora Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 17. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Lt. Joe Ward on duty.

  • 12:05 a.m. - Officers conduced a pedestrian check in the 300 block of West Arrow Highway. The subject being checked fled officers, who then discovered he dropped a gun nearby. The man was last seen running through an apartment complex in the area. Officers searched briefly, but could not find the man.
  • 10:40 a.m. - Officers were called to Sierra High School, 1134 South Barranca Avenue. Police arrested Brian Mendez, 18, on suspicion of being a minor in possession of marijuana on school grounds. Mendez was cited and released.
  • 1:36 p.m. - A theft in progress was reported at Sport Chalet, 940 South Grand Avenue. Arrested was Victor Caceres, 29, on suspicion of petty theft with a prior conviction, possessing methamphetamine and possessing drug paraphernalia. Caceres was released for a court appearance.
  • 10:53 p.m. - the theft of a mountain bike was reported in the 800 blk of East Route 66.


Tuesday, Dec. 18. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Lt. Joe Ward on duty.

  • 8:27 a.m. - A theft report was filed in the 1300 block of East Gladstone Street.
  • 11:13 a.m. - A Municipal Code violation was reported in the 400 block of West Foothill Blvd. Two transients were reportedly selling mistletoe outside of a business. Arrested was known transient Devin Fullmer, 46, on several outstanding warrants. Fullmer was released for a court appearance.
  • 4:16 p.m. - A residential burglary was reported in the 500 block of North Wildwood Avenue.
  • 5:16 p.m. - A DUI driver was reported on Grand at Colorado avenues. The driver of a Maroon SUV was seen driving very slow and reportedly struck a guardrail while on the 210 freeway. Officers stopped the vehicle after it ran a red light at Grand Avenue and Foothill Blvd. The driver was suffering from undisclosed medical issues and paramedics were summoned to treat the driver.
  • 6:53 p.m. - Theft in progress was reported at Walmart, 1950 East Auto Centre Drive. Police arrested  Shawn Bland, 27, on suspicion of petty theft with a prior conviction, violation of his parole and on an outstanding warrant. Bland was released for a court appearance.
  • 8:41 p.m. - An officer attempted to stop a driver who ran a red light and had no headlights on at Route 66 and Compromise Line Road. The driver refused to pull over and led officers on a brief chase.


Wednesday, Dec. 19. Sgt. Matt Egan and Sgt. Scott Strong on duty.

  • 9:08 a.m. - An injury Collision was reported at Foothill Blvd. at Glendora Avenue.
  • 12:15 p.m. - Officers were called to assist an outside jurisdiction at Arrow High and Glendora Avenue. An injury collision was reported in the intersection.
  • 6:10 p.m. - Officers responded to a theft report at Kohl's, 1225 South Lone Hill Avenue. Loss prevention detained a woman on suspicion of theft. Grace Madrid, 52, on suspicion of theft, Madrid was cited and released.
  • 6:43 p.m. - Theft was reported at the Village Eatery, 221 North Glendora Avenue. Used cooking oil was stolen, police said.
  • 6:49 p.m. - A vehicle burglary was reported in the 600 block of West Route 66. One of the windows was smashed to gain entry.


Thursday, Dec. 20. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Lt. James DeMond on duty.

  • 12:46 a.m. - A disturbance was reported in the 700 block of South Washington Avenue. Arrested was Frederick Underkofler, 52, on suspicion of disorderly conduct. Underkofler was held until no prosecution was desired.
  • 11:43 a.m. - A burglary report was investigated in the 1300 block of East Foothill Blvd.
  • 2:12 p.m. - A theft in progress was reported at Stater Bros, 1830 East Route 66. A woman was accused of stealing items. She fled on foot south along Lone Hill and was seen running on the on ramp to the westbound 210 freeway. Officers located the woman hiding amongst some bushes and arrested Lisa Pardo, 43, on suspicion of petty theft with a prior conviction. Pardo was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
  • 5:21 p.m. - Theft was reported in the 900 block of South Forestdale Avenue.


Friday, Dec. 21. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Lt. James DeMond on duty.

  • 1:12 a.m. - A vehicle burglary was reported in the 1300 block of East Gladstone Street.
  • 11:29 a.m. - A health and safety code was reported at Sierra High School. A 17-year-old male student was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana.
  • 1:21 p.m. - A vandalism report was investigated in the 800 block of East Route 66.
  • 2:29 p.m. - A burglary in progress was reported in the 900 block of East Carroll Avenue. Police established a perimeter around the area, but could not locate the suspect.
  • 4:48 p.m. - Vandalism was reported in the 1200 block of East Gladstone Street.
  • 9:57 p.m. - A DUI driver was reported on Bennett at Lorriane avenues. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level and possessing an open container of alcohol. The driver was issued a citation and released.


Saturday, Dec. 22. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Lt. James DeMond on duty.

  • 3:03 a.m. - A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 block of North Bender Avenue. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. The driver was cited and released.
  • 11:17 a.m. - Fraud was reported in the 100 block of West Foothill Blvd.
  • 1:11 p.m. - A theft report was made in the 100 block of East Norgate Street.
  • 6:44 p.m. - Police were called to assist paramedics in the 400 block of West Ada Avenue.
  • 11:29 p.m. - Officers investigated a suspicious occupied vehicle in the 900 block of South High Country Drive. Arrested was Christopher Cook, 20, on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possessing marijuana. Cook was cited and released.


Sunday, Dec, 23. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Sgt. Scott Strong on duty.

  • 1:07 a.m. - Officers were called to assist paramedics in the Walmart parking lot. The occupant of an SUV was unconscious inside the vehicle. Medics treated the driver.
  • 1:15 a.m. - A DUI driver was reported in the area of Valley Center Avenue and Foothill Blvd. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. The driver was cited and released.
  • 5:43 p.m. - Theft was reported at Ralphs, 655 South Grand Avenue. Arrested was Paula Reeves, 48, on suspicion of burglary. Reeves was issued a citation and released.
  • 7:02 p.m. - A vandalism in progress was reported in the 200 block of West Dike Street. A woman was reportedly seen breaking a window to a residence. The woman ran into an area home, but police could not find the suspect. A report was taken.
  • 9:42 p.m. - Grand theft auto was reported in the Walmart parking lot.
