Police Blotter: Thefts, Burglaries and a Crash

Local police activity for the week of June 25 to July 1.

The following information was provided by the Glendora Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, June 25. Sgt. Mike Randazzo and Sgt. Scott Strong on duty.

  • 7:19 a.m. - A theft report was filed in the 600 block of East Route 66. Fuel and batteries were stolen from two work trucks in a parking lot, Strong said.
  • 7:45 a.m. - A theft report was filed in the 800 block of East Route 66. Oxygen sensors were stolen from work trucks in a parking lot.
  • 2:33 p.m. - A grand theft was reported in the 700 block of East Myrtle Avenue. A pool pump was stolen.
  • 3:01 p.m. - A grand theft was reported at South Lorraine Avenue and the railroad tracks. Copper wire was reportedly stolen from railroad equipment.


Tuesday, June 26. Sgt. Mike Randazzo and Lt. Joe Ward on duty.

  • 8:32 a.m. - A residential burglary was investigated at , 1025 East Arrow Highway. The front door was pried open, but officers said no entry was made.
  • 1:26 p.m. - A burglary was investigated in the 1600 block of South Barranca Avenue. Officers arrested David Chaparro, 35, on suspicion of burglary in the first degree an don an outstanding warrant. Chaparro was released for a court appearance.
  • 2:17 p.m. - A grand theft auto was reported at , 1950 East Auto Centre Drive.
  • 3:51 p.m. - A grand theft was reported in the 700 block of East Meda Avenue.


Wednesday, June 27. Sgt. Mike Randazzo and Lt. Joe Ward on duty.

  • 8:05 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a person injured at South Inverness Avenue at Baseline Road.
  • 8:59 a.m. - A graffiti report was investigated in the 300 block of West Mauna Loa Avenue.
  • 10:43 a.m. - Police investigated a burglary report at Ole Hammer Park. Unknown subjects pried open a hatch to the water vault.
  • 1:07 p.m. - Authorities investigated a burglary report in the 700 block of South Santa Fe Avenue.


Thursday, June 28. Sgt. Matt Egan and Sgt. Matt Williams on duty.

  • 9:31 a.m. - Authorities were called to assist fire fighters in the 100 block of West Route 66.
  • 11:36 a.m. - Copper pipe allegedly stolen overnight from a business in the 200 block of South Grand Avenue.
  • 1:20 p.m. - Officers investigated suspicious circumstances at US Bank, 801 South Grand Avenue. A man who tellers said allegedly committed fraud at other banks entered the Glendora branch, but left when he became nervous. The man left his ID behind. Officers are investigating the incident.
  • 2:24 p.m. - A vehicle burglary was investigated in the 800 block of South Grand Avenue.
  • 4:34 p.m. - Officials at Walmart alleged they detained an employee for stealing. Police arrested Lauren Boardman, 23, on suspicion of theft. Boardman was cited and released.


Friday, June 29 Lt. James DeMond and Lt. Jamie Caldwell on duty.

  • 2:13 a.m. - Police conducted a traffic stop on East Mauna Loa at Glendora avenues and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. The driver was cited and released.
  • 7:06 a.m. - A Grand theft was reported in the 2000 block of East Petunia Avenue. Construction tools were reportedly stolen.
  • 11:38 a.m. - Police responded to an on South Glendora and Juanita avenues.
  • 1:28 p.m. - A grand theft auto was reported in the 400 block West Gladstone. A Silver Honda Civic was reportedly stolen.
  • 2:42 p.m. - Officers conducted a followup investigation in the 100 block of North Vista Bonita Avenue and arrested a female subject on suspicion of possessing controlled substance paraphernalia. The subject was cited and released.
  • 4:59 p.m. - Police arrived to a non-injury crash on North Barranca at Leadora avenues and arrested Ryan White, 27, on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. White was cited and released.
  • 10:38 p.m. - Officers investigated a in the 1200 block of South Charvers Avenue. The suspicious vehicle failed to yield to the officer and tried to elude police, eventually crashing into tree.


Saturday, June 30. Lt. James DeMond and Lt. Jamie Caldwell on duty.

  • 1:21 a.m. - A graffiti report was investigated in the 1300 block of East Gladstone Street.
  • 2:39 a.m. - Police conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of East Route 66 and arrested the driver on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance. The driver was released on bond.
  • 10:11 a.m. - A vehicle burglary was investigated in the 800 block of North Glendora Mountain Road.
  • 5:19 p.m. - A theft in progress was reported at Walmart. Store officials allege the suspect concealed medicine and left the store without paying for it. Officers arrested Jason Chidester, 24, on suspicion of burglary. Chidester also had several outstanding warrants and was held in lieu of $80,000 bail. Officers also arrested Nancy Chidester, 54 on suspicion of theft. Nancy was cited and released.
  • 9:47 p.m. - A burglary was reported in the 1900 block of East Cobblefield Way. The victim flagged down a police car and reported a woman stole his cell phone and took off. Police eventually found and arrested Andrea Lopez, 39, on suspicion of petty theft with a prior conviction. Lopez was held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
  • 10:19 p.m. - A theft in progress was reported at Walmart. Police arrested Fransisco Murillo, 37, and Luis Torres, 33. Murillo was booked on suspicion of petty theft with a prior, while Murillo was booked on suspicion of theft and on  an outstanding warrant. Murillo was held in lieu of $80,000 bail. Electronics were among the items allegedly stolen.


Sunday, July 1. Lt James DeMond and Lt. Jamie Caldwell on duty.

  • 6:45 a.m. - A residential burglary report was investigated in the 1900 block of East CobbleField Way. This was reportedly a followup to the previous night's cell phone theft incident.
  • 1:28 p.m. - A theft report was investigated in the 2100 block of East Petunia Street.
  • 5:57 p.m. - Authorities conducted a pedestrian check in the 600 block of West Foothill Blvd. and arrested Devin Fullmer, 47, Armando Lomeli, 54, and Shawn Furno, 43. Fullmer was booked on suspicion of trespassing. Fullmer was cited and released. Lomeli and Furno had several outstanding warrants and were held in lieu of $30,000 and $20,000 bail, respectively.
  • 11:07 p.m. - A car fire was reported in the Walmart parking lot. The fire had been extinguished by the time officers arrived. Los Angeles County Firefighters had been called off.
