Police Blotter: Sexual Assault at Citrus College, Hit-and-Run and a Robbery

Local police activity for the week of Sept. 12 to Sept. 18.

The following information was supplied by the Glendora Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Sept. 12: Sgt. Matt Williams on duty.

  • At 9:34 a.m. Glendora Police responded to a report of graffiti on the Fye Music building 707 West Route 66. The vandals used grease pens to mark on the building, Williams said.

Tuesday, Sept. 13

  • On Tuesday, Glendora Police , 1000 W. Foothill Blvd. Police are seeking any additional victims in the case.

Wednesday, Sept. 14: Lt. Rob Lamborghini on duty.

  • Glendora Police made a vehicle check in the 1800 Block of East Route 66 and discovered narcotics in the driver’s and passenger’s possession. Officers arrested Ryan Lottes, 26, and Daniel Lee, 34, residences unknown, on suspicion of narcotics possession. They were cited and released, Lamborghini said.

Thursday, Sept. 15: Lt. Brian Summers on duty.

  • At 7:15 p.m. Glendora Police responded to a report of a burglary in the 900 block of Juanita Avenue. The resident reported money and an ATM card stolen. The burglar gained access through a window at the back of the house, Summers said.

Friday, Sept. 16: Lt. Brian Summers on duty.

  • At 9:10 a.m. Glendora Police responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in the 500 block of West Route 66. A burglar pried off a gas gap to a delivery van and siphoned gas from the vehicle, Summers said.
  • Shortly after 5:20 p.m. Glendora Police responded to a report of shoplifters at Department Store in the 1200 block of South Lone Hill Avenue. Officers arrested Jacklyne Portillo, 19, and a minor, address unknown. She was charged with shoplifting and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
  • At 11:53 p.m. Glendora Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of East Sierra Madre and Northridge avenues. They learned that a pickup truck hit a curb and tree, which broke off one of the vehicle’s tires. The driver tried to drive off on three tires, but after traveling about 100 feet the vehicle careened into a residential front yard where it came to rest. The driver then ran from the scene on foot, Sgt. Matt Egan said. Police later found the man hiding in a bush several blocks away at 705 Huerta Verde Road, Egan said. Police arrested Michael Sousa, 18, address unknown, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and hit-and-run with property damage. Bail was set at $20,000.

Saturday, Sept. 17: Sgt. Matt Egan and Lt. Brian Summers on duty.

  • At 8:31 p.m. Glendora Police responded to a robbery report in the 700 block of East Walnut Avenue. Officers learned that a purse was ripped out of the hands of a woman in a strong-arm robbery, Summers said.

Sunday, Sept. 18: Lt. Rob Lamborghini on duty.

  • Glendora Police responded at 6:02 p.m. to a report of a bicycle accident in the 1700 block of East Mountain Lane. The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital with a deep laceration to his forehead, Lamborghini said. The man was riding his bike on the narrow winding road when he lost control and crashed into a fence and tree. Lamborghini did not know which hospital the injured man was taken to.
