Police Blotter: Indecent Exposure, An Injury Collison and A Barricaded Suspect

Local police activity for the week of Dec. 10 to Dec. 16.

The following information was provided by the Glendora Police Department. Arrests do not indication a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 10. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Lt. Joe Ward on duty.

  • 7:37 a.m. - A grand theft auto was reported in the 200 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue. A 1994 Acura Integra was stolen from the car port.

  • 9:52 a.m. - A disturbance was reported at Sierra High School, 1134 South Barranca Avenue. Police arrested a 16-year-old boy after pushing another student for no apparent reason, Ward said.

  • 11:37 a.m. - A residential burglary was reported in the 900 block of East Leadora Avenue. Some time in the past two weeks prior the home was broken into and about $1,000 worth of jewelry was taken.
  • 2:21 p.m. - An injury collision was reported at West Bennett at Grand Avenues. A mother walking her son was struck by a vehicle near the intersection. The mother and her child were injured.
  • 9:40 p.m. - A municipal code violation was investigated at Ralphs, 655 South Grand Avenue. Arrested was known transient John Williams, 53, on suspicion of trespassing and possession of marijuana. Williams was cited and released.

Tuesday, Dec. 11. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Lt. Joe Ward on duty.

  • 11:39 a.m. - A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 block of West Baseline Road. The driver was arrested on at least two outstanding warrants. The driver was held in lieu of $15,000 bail.
  • 1:19 p.m. - A residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of East Rosalynn Drive.
  • 1:37 p.m. - Indecent exposure was reported on South Barranca Avenue at Orangepath Street.
  • 3:54 p.m. - Glendora officers were called to assist an outside jurisdiction in the 700 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue. A grand theft auto suspect crashed and fled Sheriff's deputies on foot and hid amongst some houses.
  • 6:03 p.m. - Theft was reported in the 1300 block of East Gladstone Street.


Wednesday, Dec. 12. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Sgt. Scott Strong on duty.

  • 1:13 a.m. - A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 block of East Route 66. Arrested was Sophie Carter, 23, on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. Carter was cited and released.
  • 1:55 p.m. - A traffic stop was conducted on East Walnut at Glenwood avenues and the driver was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant. The driver was issued a citation and released.
  • 2:55 p.m. - Vandalism was reported on South Grand at Gladstone Street.
  • 6:42 p.m. - Theft was reported in the 1200 block of East Juanita Avenue.
  • 7:02 p.m. - Theft was reported in the 1000 block of East Route 66.


Thursday, Dec. 13. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Lt. James DeMond on duty.

  • 12:55 p.m. - A fight was reported at Stater Bros., 1830 East Route 66. A theft suspect was detained inside an office there and was reportedly combative. Police arrested Markus Lewis, 21, on suspicion of robbery in the second degree. Lewis was released on bond.
  • 2:40 p.m. - Theft was reported at Glendora High School, 1600 East Foothill Blvd.
  • 3:45 p.m. - A DUI driver was reported on Lone Hill at Route 66. The driver allegedly was weaving in and out of lanes. Officers located the driver and arrested Martin Derubin, 48, on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. Derubin was cited and released.
  • 9:20 p.m. - A traffic stop was conducted in the 1800 block of East Route 66 and the driver was arrested on several outstanding warrants. The driver was issued a citation and released.
  • 10:41 p.m. - Burglary was reported at LA Fitness, 820 South Grand Avenue. Two men allegedly stole several iPhones from the basketball court area, according to police.


Friday, Dec. 14. Lt. Rob Lamborghini an Lt. James DeMond on duty.

  • 10:57 a.m. - Theft was reported at Glendora High School.
  • 10:59 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a person down near Roundtable Pizza in the 400 block of East Arrow Highway. Police arrested John Esquer, 47, on suspicion of disorderly conduct from alcohol. Esquer was held in lieu of $250 bail.
  • 1:45 p.m. - Suspicious circumstances were reported in the 100 block of North Oak Tree Drive. Three men were seen jumping a wall to a residence and eventually sped off in a silver Chrysler.
  • 3:30 p.m. - Theft was reported on Mauna Loa at Washington avenues.
  • 5:34 p.m. - Theft was reported in the 1300 block of East Allen Avenue.


Saturday, Dec. 15. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Lt. James DeMond on duty.

  • 1:42 a.m. - A traffic stop was conduced in the 100 block of West Arrow Highway. Police arrested Joseph Miranda, 30, on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood alcohol level. Miranda was cited and released.
  • 2:01 a.m. - An injury collision was reported at Bonnie Cove Avenue at Arrow Highway. The vehicle struck a traffic light in the crash, police said. Officers later arrested Kyle Harper, 20, on suspicion of DUI resulting in bodily injury, exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level and driving on a suspended license. Harper was held in lieu of $100,000 bail. The injured occupant suffered a cut to the head.
  • 11:07 a.m. - Grand theft was reported in the 800 block of West Hollyvale Street.
  • 2:52 p.m. - Theft was reported in the 1200 block of South Vecino Avenue.
  • 9:57 p.m. - Vandalism in progress was reported on Lorraine Avenue at Foothill Blvd.


Sunday, Dec. 16. Sgt. Matt Egan and Lt. Joe Ward on duty.

  • 1:12 a.m. - A non-injury collision was reported on South Sunflower at Juanita avenues. Police arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI, exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level on on two outstanding warrants. The driver was transferred to Bell Police, agency of the issued warrants.
  • 3:36 a.m. - Police investigated a suspicious occupied vehicle in the 1500 block of South Jenifer Avenue and arrested the driver on an outstanding warrant. The driver was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
  • 10:55 a.m. - Suspicious circumstances were reported near South Grand Avenue at baseline Road. Arrested was Michael Arredondo, 18, on suspicion of disorderly conduct. Arredondo was released after no further prosecution was desired.
  • 6:17 p.m. - Vandalism was reported in the 900 block of East Route 66. A woman believed her car was vandalized.
  • 10:39 p.m. - A burglary report was investigated in the 400 block of South Sellers Street.
