Police Blotter: Home Burglaries, Fraud and DUI

Local police activity for the week of April 9 to April 15.

The following information was provided by the Glendora Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, April 9. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Lt. Joe Ward on duty.

  • 12:15 a.m. - A passerby alerted Glendora PD to a possible drunk transient in the area of Glendora Avenue at Route 66. Once officers arrived they found the man lying on a bus bench, a shopping cart turned over and recyclables spilled everywhere. Police arrested Richard McCoy, 59, on suspicion of disorderly conduct from alcohol. McCoy was cited and released.
  • 7:19 a.m. - Authorities investigated a theft report in the 1400 block of East Route 66.
  • 10:58 a.m. - Police investigated a vandalism report in the 400 block of West Baseline Road.
  • 3:39 p.m. - Police were called to the 500 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue. A neighbor alleged they saw broken glass to the rear door of a residence and the front door had been opened most of the day, police reported.
  • 5:02 p.m. - A second residential burglary report was made, this one in the 500 block of North Glendora Avenue. The resident told police that she found her bedroom ransacked. There were no obvious signs of burglary when she and her children first entered the home, police said.
  • 6:17 p.m. - Authorities investigated a theft report in the 1300 block of East St. Vladimir Street.


Tuesday, April 10. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Sgt. Matt Egan on duty.

  • 6:41 a.m. - Police conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of South Bonnie Cove Avenue and arrested Richard Morrison, 38, on suspicion of counterfeiting a controlled substance prescription. Morrison was eventually cited and released.
  • 9:59 a.m. - Authorities were called to the 300 block of North Amelia Avenue near the on an alleged hit and run. A caller reported that a delivery truck hit several vehicles. Upon arrival, authorities saw the truck was still on scene. Officers arrested Brandon Moore, 26, on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon in the vehicle and driving on a suspended license. Moore was cited and released.
  • 7:24 p.m. - Police were called to , 1950 East Auto Centre Drive, on a fraud in progress call. Store employees alleged the customer tried to issue a fraudulent check. Officers arrived and arrested Virginia Adan, 28, on suspicion of obtaining someone else's identification for unlawful purposes and grand theft for illegally obtaining another's access card information. Officers also arrested Alcide Green, 35, on suspicion of burglary and possessing a controlled substance. Both suspects were eventually released for a court appearance.
  • 7:46 p.m. - Police were called to , 1391 East Gladstone Street. Store officials reported a man in his 50s, wearing a red Stanford hat, beige top and jean shorts, set off alarm and ran towards Gladstone Street. The store reported an unknown loss and desired no official police report.


Wednesday, April 11. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Sgt. Matt Egan on duty.

  • 9:45 a.m. - Police investigated a theft report in the 800 block of South Grand Avenue.
  • 11:51 a.m. - Police arrested two people after conducting a felony traffic stop in the 1000 block of East Stonehedge Drive. Police arrested Brennan Clapper, 24, on suspicion of illegally possessing ammunition, possession of concentrated cannabis and possession of vandalism tools. Police also arrested Kathleen Beljak, 49, on suspicion of carrying a baton, or similar device, and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia. Brennan was eventually released for a court appearance, while Beljak posted $20,000 bail.
  • 4:18 p.m. - Police investigated a grand theft auto report in the 100 block of East Linfield Street.
  • 5:44 p.m. - Authorities investigated a vehicle burglary report in the 1000 block of East Route 66. The vehicle's window was smashed and a purse was allegedly taken.
  • 8:57 p.m. - Officers were called to the Elwood Apartments, 635 South Elwood Avenue, on a call of a suspicious occupied vehicle. The caller told police the vehicle slowly drove around the apartments, a woman then approached the car, placed something in the trunk and the vehicle drove off. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested Arthur Mendoza, 24, on suspicion of forgery and carrying a hyperdermic needle. Mendoza was eventually released for a court appearance.
  • 10:05 p.m. - Police were called to , 435 West Foothill Blvd. Store employees alleged a man in a gray hoodie was drunk at the location and refused to leave. Officers arrested known transient Lance Hammond, on suspicion of disorderly conduct from alcohol. Hammond was cited and released.


Thursday, April 12. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Sgt. Mike Randazzo on duty.

  • 1:55 a.m. - Police conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Elwood Avenue and arrested Michael Stacy, 24, on a warrant involving vandalism. Stacy was eventually released for a court appearance. Officers also arrested Brittany Robertsprice, 23, on suspicion of DUI, exceeding the blood-alcohol limit, driving with a suspended license and failure to provide proof of insurance. The latter was also released for a court appearance.
  • 6:59 a.m. - Police conducted a traffic stop on Sunflower Avenue at Calora Street and arrested driver Richard Holguin, 47, on suspicion of carrying a loaded, concealed weapon and for possessing a large-capacity magazine. Holguin was cited and released.
  • 8:33 a.m. - Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of East Walnut Avenue and arrested Miguel Cabrera, 41, on suspicion of driving without a license, failing to produce a license to officers, failure to provide proof of insurance and failure to wear seat belts while driving. The subject was cited and released.
  • 5:27 p.m. - Employees at Walmart alerted police that an alleged fraud suspect had returned to the store with a female counterpart. Once police arrived, they arrested Sabrine Pope, 41, and Michael Keitzman, 42, both on suspicion of burglary. Both subjects were held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
  • 8:50 p.m. - Police were called to , 1200 East Route 66, on a reported fight. Police arrived and arrested Danny Torres, 35, on suspicion of battery and obstructing a police officer. There was at least one female victim reported in the fight with the suspect. Torres was cited and released.


Friday, April 13. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Sgt. Mike Randazzo on duty.

  • 2:22 a.m. - Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Vista Bonita Avenue. Police arrested Kaitlin Weaver, 22, on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. The subject was cited and released.
  • 6:59 a.m. - Police were called to the 900 block of East Route 66 to investigate a suspicious occupied vehicle. Police arrested Joshua Lopez, 21, on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing nitrous oxide. The subject was cited and released.
  • 9:34 a.m. - Authorities arrived to Walmart on a theft in progress call. Officers staged near the front doors and waited for the suspect to exit. Once the suspect exited, police arrested a 15-year-old male teen on suspicion of burglary. The suspect was reportedly transferred to a juvenile holding facility.
  • 12:08 p.m. - Police investigated a vehicle theft report in the 700 block of West Route 66. Unknown items were taken from an unlocked car, police said.
  • 4:10 p.m. - Authorities investigated a vehicle burglary report at Walmart, 1950 East Auto Centre Drive.
  • 8:53 p.m. - An officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of West Foothill Blvd. and arrested Wilda St. John Lieurance, 65, on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. Lieurance was cited and released.


Saturday, April 14. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Sgt. Mike Randazzo on duty.

  • 9:21 a.m. - Authorities investigated a grand theft auto report of a 1992 Honda Accord in the 1300 block of East Gladstone Street.
  • 10:24 a.m. - Police investigated some graffiti on a wall in the 900 block of West Gladstone Street. Spray paint was allegedly used in the crime, police said.
  • 5:39 p.m. - Officers investigated a theft report on the 500 block of East Gladstone Street.
  • 7:35 p.m. - Police investigated a vandalism report in the 500 block of West Comstock Avenue. A rear window to the home was broken by an unknown object, Randazzo said.
  • 9:53 p.m. - An officer on patrol conducted a pedestrian check on South Bonnie Cove Avenue at Arrow Highway and arrested the subject on suspicion of carrying a switchblade knife. The subject was cited and released.


Sunday, April 15. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Sgt. Mike Randazzo on duty.

  • 12:03 a.m. - Police conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Pasadena Avenue and arrested Brian Joanis, 32, and Cheyenne Payton, 23, on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Both suspects were cited and released.
  • 2:28 a.m. - Authorities conducted a traffic stop on Cienega at Glendora avenues and arrested the driver on suspicion of possessing controlled substance paraphernalia. The driver was cited and released.
  • 7:53 a.m. - Police investigated a graffiti report at , 1307 East Gladstone Street. Graffiti was seen to the rear of the business.
  • 1:57 p.m. - Police investigated a vehicle burglary report in the parking lot west of the structure. Between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., a lock on one of the driver side doors to the affected vehicle was punched out. Unknown items were taken from the vehicle.
  • 4:57 p.m. - Police investigated a vehicle burglary report in the 1300 block of Lone Hill Avenue.
  • 5:13 p.m. - Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Foxbrook Drive and arrested Alexander Estrada, 20, on suspicion of possessing marijuana and obstructing a police officer. Estrada was cited and released.
  • 8:02 p.m. - Police were informed of a DUI driver in the 500 block of East Claraday Street. Officers arrested Karen Byrne, 47, on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. Byrne was held in lieu of $5,000 bail.
