Police Blotter: Ex-School District Employee Charged With Embezzlement, Transient Suspected of Arson

Monday, Aug. 19

6:01 p.m. GRAND THEFT REPORT: 1000 block of W. Foothill Blvd.

10:21 p.m. Glendora Police received 33 calls reporting a large noise resembling an explosion in the area of Amelia Avenue and Country Club Drive. Glendora Police were unable to locate the source.

Tuesday, Aug. 20

10 a.m. Cynthia Schlig, a former Glendora Unified School District employee who worked for the district for 35 years, was arrested at her Upland home by Glendora detectives. She was charged with embezzlement, theft and misappropriation charges.

10:46 a.m. INJURY TRAFFIC ACCIDENT: S. Grand Avenue and Arrow Highway

2:22 p.m. SEX REGISTRANT: 1000 block of W. Foothill Blvd.

1:52 p.m. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE: 400 block of W. Laurel Ave.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

12:08 p.m. BURGLARY INVESTIGATION/REPORT: E. Gladstone Street and Sunflower Avenue

3:38 p.m. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY INVESTIGATION: 900 block of E. Meda Ave.

4:23 p.m. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY INVESTIGATION: 100 block of N. Calera Ave. Suspect arrested.

9:24 p.m. A patrolling Glendora Police officer spotted a small brush fire in the area of Big Dalton Canyon Road and Glendora Mountain Road. Authorities later arrested Edward Zavala, 35, on suspicion of arson.

Thursday, Aug. 22

12 a.m. A bear was spotted snooping around a trailer in the 500 block of E Conifer.

12:55 p.m. Larissa Ann Green, 46, of Glendora, was arrested at 451 S. Sellers St. for burglary.

6:40 p.m. BURGLARY INVESTIGATION REPORT: 700 block of S. Brightview Dr.

Friday, Aug. 23

9:08 a.m. BURGLARY INVESTIGATION: 500 block of E. Plymouth St.

2:33 p.m. INJURY TRAFFIC COLLISION: 1900 block E. Auto Centre Dr.

8:04 p.m. Roberto Hernandez Martin, 39, of North Hills, was arrested at 1950 E. Auto Centre Drive and charged with burglary, fraudulently using credit card information and using false identification.

8:40 p.m. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY INVESTIGATION: 400 block N. Pennsylvania Ave.

Saturday, Aug. 24

The following people were arrested on DUI charges:

12:05 a.m. Angus Henry O’Brien, 58, was arrested at 702 S. Citrus, Covina

12:25 a.m. Dylan James Sauter, 21, of Upland, was arrested at 702 S. Citrus, Covina.

12:57 a.m. Henry William Ojeda, 36, was arrested at 200 N. Elwood.

Sunday, Aug. 25

4:02 p.m. Gabriel Ryan Hutton, 26, of La Puente, was arrested at 800 E. Arrow Hwy and charged with burglary.

6:37 p.m. Justin Wayne Muir, 27, of El Monte, was arrested at 1800 E. Route 66. He was charged with burglary, driving without a license and possession of marijuana.
