Personal Information of 940 Scripps College Students Stolen

A bag containing emergency contact information of the students was stolen this past weekend.

A tote bag carrying the emergency contact information of almost 1,000 Scripps College students was stolen this past weekend from a staff member’s vehicle in Anaheim.

Students learned about this incident from an email the Dean of Students office sent Wednesday, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reported Thursday.

The information of the 940 enrolled students included names, cellphone numbers, emergency contact numbers, and email addresses. It did not include their social security numbers or credit card information.

A paper list was maintained in the event of power outages when an electronic record would be inaccessible.

The Dean of Students office encouraged students with questions or concerns to call them at (909) 621-8277.

Go, go GPD. It is nice to be appreciated, but even better when someone acknowledges it.
