Outage Pesters Glendora Residents

Power restored to nearly all of the residents whose homes and businesses were darkened Saturday.

For the second time in as many days, a power outage darkened portions of Glendora.

Roughly 1,800 customers were left without power, according to information provided by the Southern California Edison web site. The outage began after 4 p.m. According to scanner reports, multiple callers stated a transformer exploded somewhere in the area of 200 West Linefield Street.

Metallic balloons are reportedly the cause of the outage, although Edison representatives have not returned calls to confirm the information. Glendora Police immediately set up stop signs at blacked out intersections.

More callers slowly began reporting outages in the area. Edison crews wroked to restore power to the residents. As of 6:30 p.m., all but 13 residents have power, according to Edison.

Go, go GPD. It is nice to be appreciated, but even better when someone acknowledges it.
