One Arrested, One Flees in Theft at Vons

Glendora Police responded to a reported theft in progress at Vons Wednesday afternoon.

One suspect was detained inside his vehicle and eventually arrested while his accomplice fled before officers arrived.

Employees called police around 12:13 p.m. to the supermarket, 435 West Foothill Blvd. The call was dispatched as a possible theft in progress. A store employee pointed officers to a suspect who was detained by police. Several DVDs from the store were located in the vehicle, said Sergeant Mike Henderson of Glendora Police.

An accomplice was seen fleeing on foot.

Police set up a containment in an area south east of Vons to located the suspect, with the aid of an Azusa Police officer, but believe he may have fled before the containment was established, Henderson said.

Arrested was Daniel Lee, 27, from San Dimas, on suspicion of theft. Lee was issued a citation and released.

The fleeing suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, 6 feet, two inches tall. He wore a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.
