NBC Seeking Families to Profile on 'Dateline'

The news program will be at the Sowing Seeds for Life food pantry in La Verne Wednesday.

Robert Dean, a producer for NBC’s “Dateline” program will be at the regularly scheduled Sowing Seeds for Life food pantry giveaway Wednesday at the DPI Labs parking lot, 1350 Arrow Highway, in La Verne.

“We are looking for families who have suffered through these tough difficult economic times and would be willing to tell their story,” Dean said. “The focus we envision for this possible future ‘Dateline’ segment is examining unemployment from the perspective of children who have been impacted. So we are looking for both parents and their children who can speak about the issue.”

He said he is hoping to talk with such people at the Sowing Seeds for Life food pantry and added that people could also contact him through his email, Robert.Dean@nbcuni.com.

Another special guest is expected to attend the Sowing Seeds giveaway, which runs from noon until around 3 p.m., will be Steve Davidson, the CEO and president of the Dr. Phil Foundation. Davidson is looking to learn more about the charity, which provides food and services to some 6,000 needy people per month, mainly through its twice-a-month food pantries.

Sowing Seeds is coordinated by founder and Glendora resident Vicki Brown.
