A crash involving a motorcyclist and an L.A. County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle tied up traffic on the westbound 210 Freeway Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred at 6:20 a.m. during heavy morning rush hour traffic, just east of Lone Hill Blvd., said Sergeant John Escobedo of the California Highway Patrol.
A 56-year-old motorcyclist traveling 30 miles per hour in the carpool lane collided with a Sheriff’s deputy patrol vehicle traveling at 5 to 10 miles per hour, causing the motorcyclist to be ejected onto the roadway.
The motorcyclist sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Foothill Presbyterian Hospital.
The carpool lane and lane one were closed for an hour and 30 minutes during the investigation, tying up traffic up to Fruit Street. Slow traffic was also reported on the 10 W from Azusa to Fremont.
Escobedo said what caused the collision and who was at fault was still under investigation.
