Man Suspected in Covina Murder Detained
The murder victim was found face down in a Covina backyard Thursday.
A male suspected in the fatal stabbing of a 38-year-old man in an unincorporated area near Covina was himself hospitalized with a stab wound today.
Deputies called to the 3600 block of Shadyglen Drive around 1:50 p.m. Thursday found the victim face down on the ground in the backyard of the residence where he lived, Deputy Kim Manatt of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said.
Gonzalo Robles, 38, died at the scene, the coroner's office reported.

A witness told investigators that Robles had argued and fought with a male who pulled a knife, stabbed him and fled on foot, Manatt said.
Several hours later, a male with a stab wound -- who was believed to have been involved in the attack -- was detained and taken to a hospital for treatment, according to Manatt.

The suspect's wound did not appear to be life-threatening, Manatt said.
