Man Killed in Smart Car Crash on 210 Freeway
A 25-year-old man died early Monday morning on the 210 freeway in Glendora.
A motorist was killed today when the Smart car that he was driving at an apparent high rate of speed overturned on the eastbound foothill (210) Freeway in Glendora, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Cierro Orona, 25, of Corona, died at a hospital a couple of hours after the crash, which occurred about 1 a.m. east of Glendora Avenue, according to the CHP.
According to the preliminary investigation, Orona was driving a 2009 Smart car in the number four lane "at approximately 90 mph or greater,'' the CHP reported.

"In an attempt to pass a slower moving vehicle, Mr. Orona veered to the left, causing (the car) to travel out of control,'' the CHP reported. "Mr. Orona over-corrected and veered to the right.''
The car rolled over, and Orona was ejected, the CHP reported. "This collision is under investigation, and intoxication is being investigated as a factor,'' the CHP reported.
