Man Convicted in Father's Bludgeoning Death

A man charged with bludgeoning his 62-year-old father to death with a dumbbell was convicted friday of first-degree murder. His father's body was found in a storage locker in Irwindale.
The West Covina Superior Court jury deliberated about two hours before finding 26-year-old Jonathan Martin Pedraza guilty who was beaten with a dumbbell.
Jurors also convicted Pedraza of one felony count of vandalism and two misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run driving.

Pedraza crashed his vehicle through an exit gate at A-1 Mini Storage, where Irwindale police discovered his father's body in a storage unit.
He was arrested in Baldwin Park after a collision involving two other vehicles, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Pedraza is facing a maximum of 27 years to life in prison when he is sentenced next Friday.
