Man Arrested on Suspicion of Molesting Girl

Fiancé allegedly walks in on man while he was having sex with a 12-year-old girl.

Glendora Police arrested a man Saturday afternoon after he was accused of molesting a 12-year-old girl.

Arrested was Jami Ortiz, 39, on suspicion of child molestation and unlawful sex with a minor, according to a Tribune article. Ortiz is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail, according to county booking records.

Ortiz has since been transferred to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles.

Police were alerted to the incident around 4:13 p.m. after the fiancé allegedly arrived home to her residence in the 600 block of South Scott Place and walked in on Ortiz having sex with the underage girl, according to scanner reports.

Police arrived and learned fellow neighbors had held the man to keep him from leaving, police said.

Ortiz is scheduled to appear in West Covina Superior Court Aug. 7.
