Man Arrested in Connection With Fatal Hit-And-Run

Miguel Angel Hernandez, 20 of Los Angeles, was arrested in connection with a crash that killed two men Saturday in Los Angeles, including a Covina man.

A man was arrested today in connection with a hit- and-run crash in South Los Angeles that left two men dead.

Miguel Angel Hernandez, 20 of Los Angeles, was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter in connection with the crash which occurred about 1:45 a.m. Saturday at Central and Gage avenues, authorities said.

Luigi Velasquez, 20, of Los Angeles, was pronounced dead at 10:58 p.m. Sunday, said Assistant Coroner Chief Ed Winter.

Velasquez was one of two passengers in a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, which plowed into the rear of a 2004 Honda Accord.

The Honda driver, Armando Aceves, 47, of Covina, suffered multiple blunt- force injuries and died at the scene.

Hernandez was driving the Monte Carlo.

The other passenger, Amado Marcial, 20, of Los Angeles, was hospitalized in critical condition.
