Man Arrested After Hit and Run, Solo Collision

Beer cans found in the back of his vehicle, unknown if the driver was drunk.

Police arrived to the scene of a solo collision Saturday, only to find the car empty and the driver nowhere to be found.

Officers ultimately found the driver of the white car walking along Juanita Avenue, not too far from the crash. The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to Foothill Presbyterian Hospital, said Lieutenant Rob Lamborghini of Glendora Police.

Authorities received a call at 3:46 p.m. of an injury collision at the intersection of Gladstone Street and Willow Avenue. Police arrived, but could not locate the driver. The car skidded as it appeared to try to turn south from Gladstone onto Willow, jumped the curb and struck a cinderblock wall. Little damage was done to the wall, but the front end of the vehicle was badly damaged.

Minutes later, passersby reported a man walking westbound in the area. He had blood on his shirt and was asking for help, according to scanner reports.

Just minutes before, the driver was reportedly involved in a hit and run in the 700 block of South Cordelia Avenue. The driver reportedly hit a parked car.

Beer cans were seen inside the car, according to officers at the scene. It was unknown if the driver was intoxicated.

The suspect was still hospitalized as of publication time and arrest information was not available, pending booking.
