Man Accused of Stabbing Two Homeless Men Headed to Court

Arraignment is scheduled Wednesday for Drew Alan Friis, who is accused of fatally stabbing two homeless men at Glendora car wash.

Friss was arrested Aug. 16 in connection with the murder of John Anthony Welch and Warren Jay Blagrave at a Glendora car wash. Both victims were stabbed up to 20 times, according to detectives.

Last year, Capt. Tim Staab said a patrolling police officer was flagged down by a citizen who said he heard screaming at the car wash in the area of Vermont Avenue and Route 66. When the officer arrived at the scene he found two men who suffered stab wounds. Paramedics pronounced the two men dead at the scene.
