Larceny, Theft Top Glendora Crime

FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program continues to show low numbers of violent crimes in Glendora.

Glendora’s violent crime remained low, although larceny and property crime continued to top the types of crimes committed in Glendora, according to recently released FBI data.

Since 1930, the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program has gathered data from 18,000 city, federal law enforcement, university, college, county, state, and tribal agencies who voluntarily provide information on crimes in their area. 

According to the data, Glendora – a city with a population listed at 49,720 -- had 62 violent crimes, zero murders, 9 forcible rapes, 24 robberies , 9 arsons and 29 aggravated assaults.

In 2009, there were 58 violent crimes, one murder, 7 forcible rapes, 28 robberies, 22 aggravated assaults and one arson.

Like 2009, property crime in 2010 remained the most common crime in Glendora, with 1,249 cases. There were 946 larceny crimes and 75 vehicle thefts in 2010.

Burglaries also went up from 178 in 2009 to 228 in 2010.
