Hiker Finds Woman Dead in Mountains North of Glendora

Homicide detectives were called out Thursday afternoon, according to the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

A hiker found a woman dead in the San Gabriel Mountains north of Glendora, the Sheriff's Department announced Thursday evening.

The incident was reported at 3:11 p.m. Jan. 24 and homicide detectives were called out to investigate, according to the L.A. County sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

The location was described by deputies as East Fork Road and Prairie Fork Road in the Angeles National Forest.

The body of the woman was found by a hiker, deputies said. She was pronounced dead at the scene. No information about her identity was released.

Sheriff's personnel at the Homicide Bureau and the San Dimas Station said in phone interviews they did not have any further info on the location.

East Fork Road is east of the San Gabriel Reservoir and State Route 39. Prairie Forks Road is north of the East Fork Ranger Station, and south of Vincent Gap and State Route 2, the Angeles Crest Highway.
