Good Samaritans Assist in Capturing Armed Robber

The incident occurred Monday at 6:17 p.m. in the 500 block of E. Foothill Blvd. in Azusa.

Good Samaritans captured a man suspected of a knifepoint robbery in Azusa and detained him until police arrived, according to a story in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

The robbery occurred Monday evening at the Royal Massage, in the 500 block of E. Foothill Boulevard, near the Azusa Pacific University campus.

According to Azusa Police, the suspect entered the massage parlor, produced a knife and demanded money.

There was a brief struggle over the weapon and the suspect fled. An employee in a neighboring business ran after the suspect. Although the employee suffered minor facial injuries, he and a second passerby were able to detain the suspect until police arrived.
