Glendora Police Prevent Man From Committing Suicide

The man called police Monday night, threatened to jump from building.

Glendora Police were able to convince a 27-year-old suicidal man to come down from a building where he threatened to jump Monday night.

Police spotted the man after he called police at about 9 p.m. Monday night. According to scanner reports, he told police he was depressed and wanted the media present.

Police arrived at the scene of the 500 block of W. Baseline Road and saw the man on the second floor of the building.

After 40 minutes of coaxing from police, the man climbed down a ladder provided by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The man was taken to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
