Glendora Police Launches Community Information System

The Nixle system will send alerts through text messages or e-mails.

The Glendora Police Department launched a new community information system that would send phone texts or e-mail messages to subscribers of important public safety information.

The Nixle system is a free service, although standard rates may apply.

“Nixle is a way for the Police Department to very quickly send information to the public,” said Glendora Police Chief Rob Castro said in a statement.  “From In-Progress emergencies, to major road closures, to crime bulletins, Nixle is the best way for Glendora Citizens to receive important facts directly as a text message or email.”
