Glendora Police Investigating Alleged Transient Assault

A man alleges he was assaulted by a transient near the Ralphs supermarket last Friday, police said.

In a police report given to Glendora Patch, the victim was leaving Ralphs around 7:30 p.m., Jan. 17, when two transients asked the victim for money. The victim said he would give them a dollar and then offered the men a cigarette, according to the report.

The victim sat down with the men and smoked with them near the Ralphs loading docks. For unknown reasons, one of the transients punched the victim several times in the face and knocked him over as the second transient watched in "disbelief," according to the report.

The victim was able to get away during the attack and ran home. Injuries sustained include bruising under the right eye and a small cut on the corner of the victim's left eyelid, according to the report.

The victim sought treatment at an area hospital where police eventually spoke with him.

The suspect is described as a male white between 45 and 50 years old with blond hair. He was clean shaven and wore dark clothing.
