Glendora Police: Distraction Burglars Operating in Area

Recent distraction burglary reports have prompted Glendora Police to send out an advisory.

The Glendora Police Department sent out the following advisory to local residents Wednesday morning:

“A distraction burglary group is operating in the area. These subjects will pose as city or county employees, utility workers, landscapers, etc. and attempt to lure residents out of their homes. Do not allow anyone representing themselves as utility employees or city workers inside your backyard or home without first verifying their identity by calling their employer or city/county directly.”

Glendora has seen a series of distraction burglaries in the past, with cases often involving elderly victims. In one case, three people were convicted of a 2012 burglary of a 90-year-old wheelchair-bound victim in Glendora.
