Glendora PD Arrest Man Linked To Vehicle Burglaries
Suspect linked to at least four vehicle burglaries in town, authorities said.
recently arrested a suspect in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries in town.
Authorities arrested Sergio Gomez, 26, from Bell Gardens, on suspicion of burglary, May 13. Gomez has since posted bail.
Gomez was originally taken into custody in the East Los Angeles area by Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies during a vehicle stop. Deputies discovered Glendora Police put out a warrant on Gomez and held him until Glendora officers arrived and took him into custody.
Gomez is linked to four vehicle burglaries in town, according to Lieutenant Brian Summers, the first reported in April at the Parking structure, located in the 1300 block of South Lone Hill Avenue. According to the officer's report, the driver's side door was punched out and the owner's purse, containing a wallet, cell phone and credit cards were stolen.
Officers took fingerprints and were able to match those to Gomez, Summers said.
"We were able to search his vehicle and recovered a lot of evidence in the vehicle, linking him to 10 additional vehicle burglaries, including four in Glendora plus surrounding communities," Summers said. "They [officers] are in the process of going through a lot of property right now."
Summers was able to confirm the property taken from the vehicle in the parking structure was recovered. Police anticipate to file multiple charges against Gomez, including vehicle burglary and possession of stolen property.
Gomez is set to appear in court June 27.
