Glendora Man Arrested in Connection to Fatal Stabbing

A 19-year-old Glendora man and an 18-year-old Covina woman were arrested following Saturday's stabbing at a graduation party in Charter Oak.

Two people were arrested following the fatal stabbing of Christian Ryan Smith, 19, of La Puente during a graduation party in the 20000 block of Stephanie Drive in the unincorporated area of Charter Oak near Covina.

Mark Parker,19, was arrested Sunday and Mary Villareal, 18, of Covina was arrested Wednesday, according to Sgt. Diane Hecht of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.

The stabbing occurred at around 2 a.m. Saturday with 20 to 25 people at the party, according to Sheriff’s reports.

A heated argument began between two men and escalated into a fight. Smith was stabbed in the upper torso. Smith was later transported to a hospital, but later died at Los Angles County-USC Medical Center, coroner’s investigator Kimberly Arnold said.

Parker was booked for murder and is being held at the Men’s Central Jail under $1 million bail.

Villareal was booked for accessory to murder and is being held at the Century Regional Detention Facility in lieu of $500,000 bail.
