Deputies Nab Parolee at Large

Sheriff's deputies set up a containment near Walmart to capture the suspect Wednesday afternoon.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies arrested a parolee at large after he led them on a brief chase through the Walmart parking lot Wednesday afternoon.

At around 4:30 p.m., deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a newer model gray Honda civic off of Bonita Avenue. Deputies ran a license plate check on the vehicle and found that it had been stolen.

The driver of the vehicle fled and ran through the bushes alongside the railroad tracks going northbound along the 57 freeway, said Sgt. Pete Shupe.
