Glendora Animal Control Hosts Low-Cost Vaccination Clinic

Under California law, rabies vaccinations are required for all dogs.

Glendora Animal Control services will offer low cost vaccinations for all community dogs and cats at special “Vaccine-A-Thon” events this year.

The June 11 clinic is set for 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Bandshell at Finkbiner Park located at 160 N. Wabash. Clinics are on a first-come, first served basis.  However, the clinic may not be able to accommodate pets with special needs.

Rabies vaccinations (required for all dogs under California law) will be priced at $7 each. A complete selection of other pet vaccinations will also be available at discounted prices. All veterinary services are provided by Alosta Animal Hospital in conjunction with The City of Glendora Animal Control.

State and city ordinances require all dogs four months and older to be vaccinated against rabies. While rabies has been brought under control among domestic pets through vaccinations, pets are still susceptible to the disease by coming into contact with wildlife.

Animal Control warns that these clinics are well attended; be prepared to stand in a long line. All dogs must wear a secure collar and leash and all cats must be in a secure carrier.
