DUI Suspect Crashes into Carl's Jr. Restaurant

The accident closes down the restaurant's dining room.

An Ontario, Calif. woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after her car ran into the restaurant, 810 S. Grand Ave., early Saturday morning.

No one was injured in the 2 a.m. mishap, but the restaurant sustained major damage that made it impossible to use the restroom, said Glendora Police Lt. Rob Lamborghini.  Damage is estimated at $25,000.

The woman identified in the accident is Elisa Rodriquez, 26. Lamborghini said the woman accidently put her car, which was in the drive-through lane, into reverse instead of drive.

She then lost control of the car and it hit the building rear first. The car hit the building hard enough to do damage inside the building.

The dining room area of the restaurant is closed, but the drive-up window is open for both cards and walk-up customers. The restaurant operators expected to have the dining room open again on Saturday night or Sunday.
