Driver Hits, Damages Wienerschnitzel Sign

The suspect is later arrested on hit-and-run charges.

Another Glendora restaurant chain suffered damage in a car accident.

At 12:35 a.m. Thursday, a driver crashed her van into a sign at at 649 West Arrow Highway.

Both the sign and a planter were damaged, said Glendora Police Lt. Jamie Caldwell.

The suspect took off running from the car, but was later found hunkered down in the bathroom at a nearby convalescent hospital. Officers arrested Cindy Miranda, 18, on hit-and-run charges. Her city of residence was not immediately known.

Caldwell said the suspect had not been drinking or using drugs and it is not known why she ran from the scene of the accident. He said a security guard at the convalescent hospital alerted police that a possible suspect was in the bathroom.

Caldwell said the suspect was likely in court and being cited Thursday morning.
