Both the sign and a planter were damaged, said Glendora Police Lt. Jamie Caldwell.

The suspect took off running from the car, but was later found hunkered down in the bathroom at a nearby convalescent hospital. Officers arrested Cindy Miranda, 18, on hit-and-run charges. Her city of residence was not immediately known.

Caldwell said the suspect had not been drinking or using drugs and it is not known why she ran from the scene of the accident. He said a security guard at the convalescent hospital alerted police that a possible suspect was in the bathroom.

They don't know why she ran off, well she's 18, probably hasn't been driving very much and she probably panicked, didn't know what to do and took off. Not very responsible, but sort of not hard to figure out.
