Crime Blotter: Drugs, Domestic Disputes & a Stabbing

Police activity for the week of May 2 to May 8.

Monday, May 2: Lt. Brian Summers on duty.

  • At 10:35 a.m., Glendora Police responded to a report of a vehicle stolen from a parking lot in an apartment complex in the 600 block of S. Lemon Street. Police are looking for a black 1996 Dodge Ram 200 pickup.
  • At 7 p.m., Glendora Police patrolling behind the Von’s store at 435 W. Foothill Ave. arrested a woman suspected of being on drugs. They later found a baggie of methamphetamine in her purse. They took Debra Carver, 47, city unknown, into custody.

Tuesday, May 3

  • A man was injured shortly after midnight when his girlfriend was driving along Baseline Road near Forestdale Avenue. The two were involved in a fight when the man said he was leaving and jumped out of the car while traveling at 20 to 30 miles per hour, Summers said. The boyfriend sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, Summers said. Glendora Police responded to the scene at 12:20 a.m. No one was arrested in the incident.
  • At 5:21 p.m. Glendora Police arrested Katherine Carney, 47, city unknown, after the suspect hit another car at the intersection of E. Sunflower Avenue and Gladstone Street. No one was injured in the accident.
  • A . Glendora Police arrested transient Frank Maclean, 45, at 7:13 p.m. hiding near the 210 freeway. The incident began in the 900 block of S. Grand Avenue when an off-duty state police officer saw the suspect pulling a woman’s hair. The office told the suspect to stop, but the suspect just became angrier and charged the officer, said Glendora Police Lt. Joe Ward. The officer pulled a gun and the suspect ran. Glendora Police then found Maclean hiding in the bushes by the freeway.
  • At 9:38 p.m. Glendora Police found a car that had been stolen out of the city of Gardena. The car was discovered in the 400 block of E. Arrow Highway.

  • At 9:30 a.m. Glendora Police responded to a report of a catalytic converter stolen overnight from a BMW vehicle parked at a car repair shop in the 600 block of E. Arrow Highway.

Saturday, May 7: Lt. Rob Lamborghini on duty.

  • At 6:15 p.m. Glendora Police responded to a report of a deer hit by a car in the 100 block of W. Sierra Madre Avenue. The deer ran in front of a west-bound vehicle, Lamborghini said. The car had minor damage and the driver was not hurt, he said. The deer ran to a yard in the 700 block of N. Glendora Avenue where is collapsed with a broken leg. An animal control officer then responded to assist it.
  • At approximately 8 p.m. a police DUI taskforce known as Avoid the 100, conducted a vehicle checkpoint at Arrow Highway, west of Vincent Avenue in Irwindale. More than 2,000 cars were screened. Two people were arrested for DUI and 30 were found to have no license or had suspended licenses.
  • At 10 p.m. Glendora Police arrested Shea Holland, 26, of Glendora on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after in the 600 block of Claraday Street. The victim was stabbed in the back and leg following an exchange of heated words with the suspect.

  • At 2:38 p.m. Glendora Police responded to a report of a car stolen from a parking lot at the Foothill Swap Meet, Citrus College, 1000 W. Foothill Blvd. The car is a black and orange 1992 Honda Civic. The victims were attending the swap meet.
