Crime Blotter: Door-to-Door Solicitors, a Suspected Mail Bomb & a Car Burglary

Local crime or week of Feb. 21 to Feb. 27.

Monday, Feb. 21: Lt. Brian Summers on duty.

  • Police responded at 8:42 a.m. to a report of gas siphoned out of a car at a repair shop in the 200 block of E. Route 66, Glendora.

 Tuesday, Feb. 22: Lt. Joe Ward on duty.

  •  Glendora Police arrested The arrest took place at 2:26 p.m. at the intersection of Foothill Blvd. and Valley Center Ave. Morris was in a van carrying eight newspaper solicitors, said Glendora Police Lt. Joe Ward. They were going door to door, but did not have a permit to solicit, which is required by the city, he said.

  •  At 11:49 a.m. Glendora Police responded to a non-injury car accident at Barranca Ave. and W. Foothill Blvd.
  • Glendora Police sent , Glendora Wednesday after receiving word from an agency in Washington State that a bomb might have been mailed to a Glendora church group. But after the package was safely opened, all police found was a holistic healing device. Such devices often consist of a massager or a laser that is said to aid in healing.

 Friday, Feb. 25: Lt. Rob Lamborghini on duty.

  •  At 12:30 p.m. Glendora Police responded to a report of two vehicles broken into in the 400 block of E. Virginia Ave., Glendora. One of the cars had been locked and another was left unlocked. A thief broke the window of the locked car and stole a backpack with books in it. Police did not immediately find anything taken from the unlocked car.
  •  At 3 p.m. police spotted a man that fit the description of a parolee at large in the 400 block of W. Foothill Blvd. Police arrested Kevin Fullmer, 44, who is described as a transient. He was arrested at a shopping center on a warrant, Lamborghini said.
